Open to law students and recent graduates. Choose one topic, write an original analytical essay, and submit by email. Top five entries receive cash prizes and internship opportunities.

    Analyze the interplay between the Supreme Court’s ruling in Mineral Area Development Authority v. Steel Authority of India (2024), which affirmed States’ power to tax mineral-bearing land, and the MMDR Amendment Act, 2026. Assess its impact on fiscal federalism and the constitutional division of powers.

  2. 02

    Examine the tension between equal voter representation (“one vote, one value”) and federal equality among States in light of the post-2026 Lok Sabha delimitation and the impending representation shift between northern and southern States.

  3. 03

    Evaluate whether the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Act, 2026 dilutes the fundamental rights to dignity, autonomy, and privacy established in NALSA v. UOI (2014), or provides necessary regulatory clarity.
